Trip Cancellations

Please read our cancellation policy carefully. Our cancellation policy applies to individual Bookings for Group Trips, Custom Trips, and Self-Guided Trips, and includes the cancellation of 1 or more participants on a trip without canceling the trip itself.

Trip cancellation insurance is highly recommended.

Trip deposits of 25% of your trip price are due at the time of booking to confirm your private trip or your spot on a group trip departure.

Deposits are non-refundable.

Full payment is due 60 days before the trip start

    • The balance owing is due 60 days before the trip begins and is non-refundable
    • Full trip amount will be forfeited.

*Boat-based trips, heli-assisted ski touring trips, and fly-in lodge trips require the final balance payable 90 days before the trip starts.

CANCELLED PROGRAMS AND TRIP MODIFICATIONS

Once we confirm your booking, we guarantee your trip departure. However, we do reserve the right to change guides, lodging or the itinerary should unforeseen circumstances (guide sickness or injury, hut or route closing etc.) force us to do so or should the physical condition of the participants (see below), weather, or mountain conditions make a continuation as planned too risky. This could happen before or during your trip.

In case of adverse circumstances, OnTop will do everything possible including modifications to your trip in order not to cancel, but if we have no choice (i.e. violent weather events, catastrophic avalanche hazard etc.) a full refund for any unused parts of your trip will be given. No refunds can be given, should the group or individual members decide to forego suggested trip modifications or depart from a trip early for any reason.

PERSONAL FITNESS

Our programs rely heavily on the integrity of each individual to assess their skill level and physical condition accurately. It is the responsibility of each participant to be aware of the necessary skill and fitness level for a particular trip. When in doubt, please call and discuss this with us! For the protection of yourself and other group members, we reserve the right to deny participation to any unprepared participant at any time of the trip, in which case we cannot offer a refund. In order to accommodate diverse levels of ability and ambition as well as diverse personalities, the decision making of the guide has to be geared towards safety and finding a consensus within the group, which may not please each individual participant at all times.
