NEWS
June 28:
Finally summer - both in the Alps and in the Canadian Rockies. warm temperatures and sunshine are badly needed to bring the mountains in summer climbing conditions as there is lots of residual snow left in the Alpine from a rather wintery spring this year. Our summer trips are booking up even though it seems that our clients are booking on shorter notice than in the past, especially for the Europe trips. We are taking a bit of a hit on our margins with the low US$ but we still believe we are delivering excellent value on both our scheduled and customized trips!
April 27:
I've just returned from 4 weeks of ski touring in the Alps to a snowy welcome here at home in Canmore. At least the sun is out but the peaks around us are still caked in white. At any rate, it's the quiet time of the year for us and we're planning our summer! Stay tuned for our newsletter soon to come and few new trips that we will be posting!
December 17:
Excellent w inter here in the Canadian Rockies so far: Just about all popular ice climbs are in good shape and the skiing is also shaping up real well with snow levels reaching 250cm at tree line in the Columbia ranges. The photo below was taken of Jim Seiler on December 14 in the Northern Selkirks - not bad!

Explore Magazine - September Issue
Jorg is featured in "Explore", probably the most popular Canadian outdoor magazine, representing mountain guiding in a piece about outdoor professions.

Following frequent requests, we finally posted an article that Jorg wrote for Rock and Ice Magazine in 2001 about the mountain guiding profession in the USA - pretty entertaining reading but unfortunately not much has changed in 10 years since!

Winter is looking pretty good already with about 1 meter of snow at treeline in the Columbia Mountains around Revelstoke. We are eagerly catching up with desk work during this "quiet time" for us, before the ice climbing and skiing season kicks in again at the end of November.

After holding off for many years, we finally decided to accept credit cards directly while we previously offered only credit card payments through pay-pal. It does make things a lot easier for our many international customers and it has become the industry standard. For our long term clients, who prefer to continue to pay by check, we offer a discount for as long as the booking comes in at least two months before the trip starts.
